Although these pages have by tradition tended to cover
the fields of archaeology and anthropology, occasional
forays are made into other areas, such as art, astronomy
and esoterica. I began writing remote central because
I feel compelled to report and comment upon news
and discoveries that catch my eye.
I don't have any specific academic or professional
qualifications, but I think it's important for people not
directly involved in science to be able to read about
and participate in the ever-widening range of debate
that accompanies humankind's progress through this
21st century.
I have over the years come into direct contact with the
outside world, and in September 2007, this blog was
mentioned in British Archaeology magazine, whilst
over the past year I've written collaborative posts on
behalf of the National Geographic Channel, the
History Channel, as well as The Smithsonian Channel,
when they were involved in the 2008 digs
at Stonehenge. I've also written a brief post on behalf
of the Discovery Channel.
Most recently I was mentioned by author Dennis Price,
in his book, 'The Missing Years of Jesus - The Greatest
Story Never Told', and as I write this in July 2009, I
am also a writer/editor at Anthropology.net
